UpBeat offers weekly, 60-minute piano classes which provide high quality support and individual instruction to each student. These small group classes, led by multiple instructors, are structured to help students gain a strong musical foundation in technique, theory, composition, and performance. Class size ranges from 2-8 participants, which allows for students to work together, as well as receive individual piano instruction.

Each student will have an individualize lesson plan, including theory assignments and appropriate, fun songs to work on for the week. All students have the opportunity to performing songs at the end of class, as well as at the end of each session for friends, parents, and family.

Rock band sessions help students understand and practice the art of collaboration, teamwork, and discipline in a fun and supportive setting. Through small group rehearsals, students sharpen their "band" skills to prepare for live performances and to become more mature musicians. UpBeat rock bands *perform quarterly at local music venues and street festivals. Students are coached by professional musicians and learn how to manage a rehearsal, communicate clearly, listen more effectively, and to inspire others through performances. These 60-minute weekly classes help students utilize their existing musical skills, stretch them as performers, and prepare for a live show with their bandmates.

The focus of the class is to have fun, enjoy community, learn songs, and grow as a musician and performer. For any student who is passionate about performing live, this class will help build confidence and provide skills necessary to be successful and enjoy the world of live music!

*There is a $10 performance fee for each student.

*Recommended for young beginners, who may eventually move into Group Classes or a 45-minute Lesson.

Learn the proper technique of singing and how to use your singing and speaking voice in a healthy and natural way! The first half of every lesson is dedicated to exercises encouraging correct breath support, tonal recognition, and a relaxed, open throat. The latter half of class is spent applying those techniques to popular repertoire, chosen collaboratively by both the student and teacher.

Students will learn to understand and use the voice as an instrument. Through warm-ups, exercises, and songs, students are introduced to techniques that will help produce relaxed and powerful sound and tone. Having fun and gaining confidence is our goal, as students mature as vocalists and learn songs -- and how to perform these songs!

Great drummers have developed the ears and heart to listen deeply and give to the music what it needs. They also have mastered the skills to play whatever the music requires. At UpBeat, we focus on building complete musicians. Our drum lessons aim not only to teach you the skills you need perform well on drums, but also to have a deep appreciation for the discipline and heart it takes to make great music.

All levels welcome. Ages 7+

Our Music Camp is for everyone! This is a fun opportunity for beginners to try piano for the first time or experienced students to be inspired and grow as musicians.

Days are structured for students to learn mainly on the piano, with optional electives in the afternoon such as art and singing. With breakouts and group activities, students develop a deeper understanding of music theory and ear training. Children also have the opportunity to participate in recreational activities, games, and sports during the outdoor lunch hour.

Each week culminates in a piano performance in which parents and families are invited to attend.

Camps are structured as weekly offerings from 9am-3pm on the weeks of June 24, July 8, July 15, August 19, and August 26.

Our week-long Rock Band Camp is a new offering. We are excited to offer a unique experience for our students centered around full-band rehearsals with professional musicians and instrumental/vocal breakouts for coaching from instructors. Weather permitting students go to the park for lunch and group activities. The week culminates in a concert on Friday.
