30-Minute Private Voice Lessons

Learn the proper technique of singing and how to use your singing and speaking voice in a healthy and natural way! Learn the fundamentals of healthy, sustainable, relaxed singing! The first half of every lesson is dedicated to exercises encouraging correct breath support, tonal recognition, and a relaxed, open throat. The latter half of class is spent applying those techniques to popular repertoire, chosen collaboratively by both the student and teacher.

Students will learn to understand and use the voice as an instrument. Through warm-ups, exercises, and songs, students are introduced to techniques that will help produce relaxed and powerful sound and tone. Having fun and gaining confidence is our goal, as students mature as vocalists and learn songs -- and how to perform these songs!

Techniques covered:
- diaphragmatic breathing
- solfeggio as a sight-reading and ear-training tool
- finding your "natural voice" and resisting vocal imitation (Taylor Swift is awesome, but we want to hear what YOU sound like!)
- phrasing and musical interpretation

No experience necessary, but a fearless attitude and a desire to have fun while learning a new skill is required!
